Pension choice

You have a occupational pension (BTP, ITP or PPA-07) through your employer. Your employer pays a premium for this pension every month. You can decide how some of this money is invested so that it increases in value. Bliwa Försäkringstjänst makes sure that this pension money is invested as you wish.

You can decide over a sum which corresponds to 2 percent of your salary (PPAK 4 percent). For example, if you earn SEK 24,000 per month this would be SEK 5,750 per year. It is part of the occupational pension for which your employer pays a monthly premium. This part of the pension is called BTPK, ITPK, ITPK or PPAK (complementary occupational pension).

If you want your complementary occupational pension to be as high as possible, you should make a pension choice. The money will increace in value and give you a higher pension. You can tailor your complementary occupational pension to suit your family situation. A single person and a person with family have different needs of protection for the survivors.

More information about how to make your choice is provided below.

Which insurance company should manage your money?

You can choose any of the insurance companies on the reply form. Start by deciding if you want your money to be invested by a traditional insurance company or a unit-linked insurance company.

Traditional insurance company
The insurance company invests your money and gives some form of guarantee. The size of the pension depends both on how much money is paid in and the interest the money earns.

Unit-linked insurance company
You decide how the money should be invested. You can choose between a number of mutual funds. But remember that no growth in value can be guaranteed. The amount of your pension will depend on how much money is paid in and how much the units in the fund or funds you have chosen are worth.

Who will get the pension if you die?

If you have a family
If you have a family we recommend that you make sure the pension goes to your family if you die. Choose "Ja" (yes) below choice B. Återbetalningsskydd (repayment cover) on the reply form. The pension will then automatically be paid to your spouse, registered partner or cohabitant in the first instance and to your children irrespective of age in the second instance. If you want to name another beneficiary, contact Bliwa Försäkringstjänst.

How does the repayment cover affect my complementary occupational pension?
If you choose repayment cover your complementary occupational pension will be slightly lower than if you had not chosen repayment cover. Call the insurance companies you are interested in for more information about how the repayment cover affects your pension.

If you are single and have no children
If you are single and have no children your are advised to choose "Nej" (No) below B. Återbetalningsskydd (repayment cover) on the reply form. Then all your complementary occupational pension money will be saved for your own future pension.

If you do not choose repayment cover now, but want to change your mind later, you may need to fill in a health declaration form. Please contact Bliwa Försäkringstjänst for further information

Do you need Family Cover?

Family Cover is a pension which will be paid to your family if you die before 65 years of age. After your death, your family will receive a pension from Bliwa Livförsäkring every month for five years.

Two levels to choose between
There are two levels to choose between: 1 increased price base amount or 2 increased price base amounts. If you choose Family Cover with 1 increased price base amount this means the family will receive the equivalent of 1 increased price base amount per year. For the year 2012 the increased price base amount is SEK 44 900. This means the pension would be SEK 3 742 per month before tax.

If you choose 2 increased price base amounts, your family will get twice as much, SEK 89 800. In this case, the pension would be SEK 7 483 per month before tax.

The cost of Family Cover
The cost of Family Cover is deducted from the premium your employer pays for your complementary occupational pension. Note that you do not need to pay any money yourself if you choose Family Cover. If you choose Family Cover with 1 price base amount, SEK 48 per month will be deducted from your ITPK money. If you choose 2 price base amounts, the deduction is SEK 96 (year 2012).

Beneficiary
The pension will automatically be paid to your spouse, registered partner or cohabitant in the first instance and to your children irrespective of age in the second instance. If you want to name another beneficiary, contact Bliwa Försäkringstjänst.

Family Cover and repayment cover
You can choose both Family Cover and repayment cover. Family Cover is an extra pension which goes to your family if you die before 65 years of age. Repayment cover means that the family will receive your complementary occupational pension if you die.

If you are single
If you are single and have no children you have no reason to choose Family Cover, just put a cross in the square ”Avstår från Familjeskydd” below choice C. Familjeskydd on the reply form. (You can change your choice later, but then you will need to fill in the health declaration on the form and submit it for approval.)

Health requirements

If you choose repayment cover and/or Family Cover, you do not need to fill in the health declaration on the form, provided the form reaches Bliwa Försäkringstjänst no later than the date specified under D. on the form. If you make your choice later, then you will have to fill in the health declaration.
